These are a few letters between Wayne Bryan, Steve Bellamy and Geoff Grant. I love this exchange of ideas coming from some of the sharpest idea guys out there! And a plan! Wayne Bryan is in Blue, Steve Bellamy is in Orange, Geoff Grant is in Purple and Kevin Kempin is in Green! I personally like Steve Bellamy’s idea for competition centers on both coasts. That is where we should be heading!

I had the opportunity to finally meet the USTA’s new President–Dave Haggerty–yesterday afternoon at the Atlanta “Listening Session” the USTA held in conjunction with the Southern Annual Meetings. Read more…
One thing I find with nearly every beginning adult and junior player is the question, “How do I employ strategy and aim the ball to this side or that side of the court?”
Unfortunately not going to be able to travel to Jacksonville in February – will be on the tennis pro shop tv, that’s for sure – front and center. Probably travel distance is a little too far for me and my group as we are in the Big D. I dream of a day when coaches raise money and set up transpo and housing and workouts and matches for their juniors to attend Davis Cup Matches – – – no matter how near or far.
This is a terrific letter I hope everyone gets the opportunity to read. You have a few people in charge at the USTA who are only now beginning to realize they screwed up with this mandate. Their real problem now is trying to figure out a graceful return to what was before a good system.
Wayne Bryan in blue and Chris in black–check it out!
One of the best tennis coaches I have ever known and learned from was Coach Jim Leighton of Wake Forest University and the Old Town Club in Winston Salem, N.C. In the early days, as legend has it, on any given Sunday you could find Dennis Van Der Meer or Vic Braden sitting in the shop discussing tennis technique and strategies with Coach Leighton. I do not know if this is true or not but he was one heck of a coach.
Here are my picks for “suggested resolutions” the USTA could adopt going forward into 2013. I read these in this order on the We Coach Tennis radio show on December 30th, 2012. Hope somebody was listening. If not, now I have written them out so they might be better understood.
Wayne is in blue and Kurt in Black.
“You’re the best and most likeable adversary I have ever had” That’s quite a compliment coming from you. Ha. If the shoe fits, you gotta wear it. Read more…
And Happy New Year and hope you and your family have had a wonderful Holiday Season . . .Have received a few e mails, texts and calls from coaches across the country lately saying that Kurt Kamperman is saying Coach Bryan only feels there are 1,000 kids in the US who should be playing with regulations tennis balls. I would like to make the record crystal clear here:
