Our guest on the show is Robert Lansdorp. Robert was born in Indonesia and lived there for about 10 years. Later he went to Holland and was introduced to tennis there. In 1960 his parents decided to immigrate for San Diego, California. He ended up playing number 1 for Pepperdine singles and doubles and became All-American.

In 1967 he started teaching in San Diego at Morley Field and from there he went to the Jack Kramer Club where he taught for 8 years. The Jack Kramer Club is where he coached Tracy Austin, Eliot Teltscher, John Austin, Robert Van Hoff, and Brian Teacher. Next he went to the West End Tennis Club and worked with Pete Sampras, Lindsey Davenport, Micheal Joyce, Jeff Tarango and others. Later at the Riviera Tennis Club he worked with Maria Sharapova.
